ICC Hosts Joe Benevento for Author Reading

Dr. Joe Benevento, will be at ICC on Thursday, March 3 at 1 p.m. in the Student Lounge, East Peoria campus. Hosted by the ICC English, Humanities and Language Department, he will read from his latest works, Expecting Songbirds: Selected Poems, 1983-2015 and Saving St. Teresa, a Cupelli Brothers Mystery.

Benevento is a professor of English at Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo., where he teaches American lit, mystery, and creative writing. He serves as the director of creative writing and is the co-editor of the Green Hills Literary Lantern, a digital magazine published annually by Truman State. His poems, essays and stories have appeared in approximately 300 publications including South Dakota Review, The Chattahoochee Review, Pearl, Inkwell, Re: Arts and Letter, and Poets and Writers. He has also been nominated three different times for Pushcart Prizes.

The event is free and open to the public. Participants may bring their own books for signing or may purchase books at the event.
